NDTR program at Northern Arizona University is on the cutting edge of dietetics education, serving as a Future Education Model for the profession. This four-year degree includes didactic coursework and supervised experiential learning experiences in nutrition, dietetics and public health. NAU’s Nutrition & Foods/NDTR undergraduate degree program is a candidate for accreditation in the Future Education model of the Accreditation of Education of Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND)
Upon completion of the program, graduates are eligible to sit for the Nutrition and Dietetics Technician, Registered Examination. The program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND). **Students who complete this program will not receive Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD) verification and will not be eligible to apply to dietetic internships.
The MPH Nutrition Program at NAU is also a Future Education Model Graduate-level program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND). The BS in Nutrition and Foods – NDTR Program at NAU is a Future Education Model Bachelor level program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND).

Our instructors and preceptors are dedicated to preparing students to serve the public health and nutrition needs of Northern Arizona communities and beyond. Students will progress through a series of undergraduate-level courses in food and nutrition that include competency based, learner-centered teaching approaches. Courses will include innovative uses of simulation and service learning activities so that students do not just learn about nutrition; they learn how to apply these concepts into real world settings.
