Regeneration windows for dryland restoration
Funding: New Mexico BLM
Participants: Brad Butterfield, Associate Research Professor, Department of Biological Sciences, NAU; John Bradford and Seth Munson, Research Ecologists, USGS Southwest Biological Science Center
Project goal: Restoration of degraded dryland ecosystems often fails due to insufficient moisture following seeding treatments. The goal of this project is to identify the hydrothermal regeneration requirements of a wide variety of species used in restoration in the southwest US, and to develop a web application that projects suitable conditions for use by BLM and other land managers.
