O2Go Program

In 2018, Campus Dining and the Green Fund partnered together to implement a revolutionary system that allows students to reduce their single-use plastic waste when ordering food to-go. With the O2Go system, it’s so easy to reduce waste! There are two containers you can choose from once you opt-in to the program: a reusable food container OR a reusable cup for coffee/smoothies/soda.

How it works

  1. student using o2go machineWhen ordering food/drink at participating location, ask the cashier to place your meal/beverage in an O2Go container (the reusable green containers and cups.) If it is your first time using the containers, you will pay the one-time $5 buy-in fee (you can use your dining dollars for this.)
  2. After finishing your meal/beverage, return the O2Go container to one of the OZZI return machines. There is one located in the Union Point by Star Ginger, and another one located on South Campus in the du Bois Center. Once you return the container, the machine will give you a token.
  3.  The next time you go to order, give the token to the cashier in exchange for an O2Go Container.

Why you should join

Single-use disposables are currently a large part of the NAU community waste system. The O2Go program will reduce landfill waste on campus significantly.  This is in line with the carbon neutrality goals and climate action plan for NAU.  In addition, by supporting this program you will also be supporting future reusable container programs on campus, moving closer to a zero-waste campus.

Stop by a Green Fund or O2Go tabling event to get a token keychain to keep it on you easily.

How long can the same token be kept? Accordion Closed

As long as you’re able to! There are many O2Go users who got a token the first semester of their freshman year and still have the same token the final semester of their senior year.
