{"id":3410,"date":"2022-04-07T17:17:21","date_gmt":"2022-04-08T00:17:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/gear-up\/?p=3410"},"modified":"2022-04-11T11:03:26","modified_gmt":"2022-04-11T18:03:26","slug":"custom-senior-services-tour","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/gear-up\/custom-senior-services-tour\/","title":{"rendered":"Custom Senior Services Tour"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As schools have been transitioning back to being fully in-person, Arizona GEAR UP\u2019s Senior Services Manager, <a href=\"mailto:daniel.pulu@nau.edu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Daniel Pulu<\/a>, saw an opportunity to help our partners build a college-going culture in our GEAR UP schools.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this year, Daniel kicked off the <a href=\"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/gear-up\/custom-senior-services\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Custom Senior Services Tour<\/a>, where he visits our schools and offers in-person\/virtual support with college readiness and preparation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSince I started this position, our interactions with the schools have been 100% virtual. Now that majority, if not all, schools are back in person, I want to offer as much support as possible. So far, the schools I have assisted have all been appreciative of our services,\u201d Daniel said.<\/p>\n<p>Daniel can assist schools in a variety of ways; he can host presentations, help facilitate workshops, or be a resource at an event. He is open to helping in any capacity he can.<\/p>\n<p>Here are a few examples of areas Daniel can help with:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>FSA ID creation workshop<\/li>\n<li>FAFSA completion events<\/li>\n<li>One-on-one appointments with students<\/li>\n<li>Scholarship workshop<\/li>\n<li>Launch Guide training to staff\/educators<\/li>\n<li>Postsecondary options, financial aid, and scholarships<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Since starting the tour, Daniel has visited several of our GEAR UP schools and has plans for many more.
