Campus Resources for First-Generation Students<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Being a college student is an exciting time in your life. Throughout your journey you may need additional support or want to access new resources. Working with other first-generation students, we\u2019ve put together a guide of some of the most useful programs and services on-campus. Where should you go for advice? Who should you talk to?<\/p>\n

Academic Success Centers<\/strong>

\nOffers tutoring, supplemental instruction, academic mentoring, and workshops. Test prep courses and the Testing Center are also housed in the ASC.<\/p>\n

Career Development<\/strong>

\nProvides career advising, workshops\/guest lectures, and online career education resources. Serves as a centralized resource for student employment and internships. Oversees online and on-campus recruitment.<\/p>\n

Counseling Services<\/strong>

\nCounseling services are tailored to the individual needs of each student. Their office offers individual and couples counseling, group counseling, crisis services, outreach, and consultation about students of concern.<\/p>\n

Campus Materials Assistance Program (CMAP)

\nStudents with financial need can apply to receive textbooks in the first two weeks of each semester.<\/p>\n

\nProviding nonperishable food and resources to students in need.<\/p>\n

Louie\u2019s Leftovers
\n<\/strong>NAUgo<\/em>\u00a0app available through:\u00a0iOS<\/a>\u00a0 |\u00a0\u00a0Android<\/a>
\n<\/strong>Through the NAUgo<\/em>\u00a0app, students can sign up to receive notifications when there is leftover food at campus events.<\/p>\n

\nAssists students with support and advocacy, including crisis management, problem-solving, and campus referrals. The office to go to if you don\u2019t know where to go.<\/p>\n

The University Writing Commons<\/strong>

\nThe University Writing Commons works with you at any stage of the writing process. Mountain campus students have access to nine University Writing Commons locations on the Flagstaff campus.<\/p>\n
