Now we’ll look at the privacy issue

Under FERPA, universities are obligated to protect the confidentiality of student information.  Every single employee at NAU – faculty and staff, from student assistants on up to the President – has a legal responsibility to preserve student privacy.

That’s a big responsibility.

To help you understand the rights of students and your personal obligation to it, we’ve prepared a self-paced tutorial.  Completing this exercise will provide you with the knowledge you need to administer student information securely.

Remember: It is your responsibility to ensure that student information is not mishandled or abused
