At our senate meeting, we discussed the importance of this bill.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/203\/ASNAU-SR-3401.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">View Resolution<\/a><\/p>\n<p>On November 22, 2021, Faculty Senate endorsed ASNAU\u2019s Resolution to Declare a Climate Emergency at NAU with a vote of 32-1-3. A senate resolution is an expression of our values and not meant to be a binding policy. We thank ASNAU for thoughtfully developing a bill, which asks NAU to declare a climate emergency, commit to an immediate plan for university-wide transition, and recognize the disproportionate impact of the Climate Crisis on Indigenous tribal communities and other underprivileged communities and work closely with these populations.
