Faculty Learning Communities
A faculty learning community (FLC) is a cross-disciplinary group of faculty that conduct an in-depth, ongoing, scholarly, and systematic discussion on a common area of inquiry. Members develop and implement projects that require them to apply and test new ideas and information about student learning. Participants are expected to attend all meetings over the course of the semester or year.
FLCs meet every three weeks throughout the semester / academic year.
Community of Practice
Communities of practices are a network of peers who have diverse skills and experience in an area or practice that meet regularly to share ideas that enhance teaching and student learning. COPs meet monthly. Participants can join for the entire series of a COP, or attend on the session(s) that are most relevant to them.
Book Discussions
The goal of our book discussion is to bring an interdisciplinary group of faculty members together to read and discuss books about students, pedagogy or other relevant topics. Book Discussions are generally scheduled for five 1-hour meetings during the semester. Registration closes after the first meeting. Participants are expected to attend all scheduled meetings.
