Annual report

Welcome
The Faculty Ombuds Program at Northern Arizona University is organized to provide members of the faculty with voluntary, informal, neutral, confidential, third-party assistance in resolving university-related issues, concerns, or conflicts. The program assists people with interpersonal misunderstandings or disputes as well as those with concerns about academic or administrative issues. The Faculty Ombuds Program operates independently as a supplement to existing administrative or formal grievance procedures and has no formal decision-making authority.
Goals
The goal of this office is to resolve concerns that faculty may have at the lowest possible level and as informally as possible. Consultation with individuals or groups is available with the goal of maintaining a healthy and productive work environment. You can contact the Ombuds Office at any time to confidentially discuss your concerns and to see if we can be of assistance to you. Use of the services of the Ombuds Office does not prohibit you from pursuing other options for dispute resolution if you chose to do so in the future.
Books for loan
The Ombuds office has a number of books for loan on topics including conflict resolution, leadership, communication, and coaching. Drop by during office hours to look over the selection and discuss your needs.
