Northern Arizona University hosts many programs to help train leaders in ethics. In addition to discipline-specific activities which can be found on their particular topic pages, we host the following programs throughout the year.<\/p>\n
Philosophy, Politics, and Law.<\/strong>\u00a0 As part of the Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy, Politics, and Law, the NAU Philosophy Department offers several ethics-focused seminars throughout the year.<\/p>\n Philosophy in the Public Interest (PPI).<\/strong> For nearly a decade, NAU’s PPI program has partnered with local business and community leaders in Flagstaff and Sedona to host salons on a variety of ethics-related topics called Hot Topics Cafe<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n Professor George Rudebusch recently published an article entitled Socrates<\/a> <\/em>in Philosopher’s Magazine in 2021. An interesting discussion of ethics from an international perspective can be found in his 2013 article Reconsidering Ren 仁 as Virtue and Benevolence<\/em><\/a> in the Journal of Chinese Philosophy.<\/p>\n Associate Professor Luke Maring recently published an article in The Journal of Value Inquiry entitled Beyond Agent‑Regret: Another Attitude for Non‑Culpable Failure. <\/em>That article can be found at this link: Beyond Agent-Regret<\/a>.
