Leadership Ethics
Northern Arizona University hosts many programs to help train leaders in ethics. In addition to discipline-specific activities which can be found on their particular topic pages, we host the following programs throughout the year.
Philosophy, Politics, and Law. As part of the Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy, Politics, and Law, the NAU Philosophy Department offers several ethics-focused seminars throughout the year.
Philosophy in the Public Interest (PPI). For nearly a decade, NAU’s PPI program has partnered with local business and community leaders in Flagstaff and Sedona to host salons on a variety of ethics-related topics called Hot Topics Cafe.

Professor George Rudebusch recently published an article entitled Socrates in Philosopher’s Magazine in 2021. An interesting discussion of ethics from an international perspective can be found in his 2013 article Reconsidering Ren 仁 as Virtue and Benevolence in the Journal of Chinese Philosophy.
Associate Professor Luke Maring recently published an article in The Journal of Value Inquiry entitled Beyond Agent‑Regret: Another Attitude for Non‑Culpable Failure. That article can be found at this link: Beyond Agent-Regret. He also published Is There A Right to Be Forgiven? in Philosophia.
