Teaching opportunities overseas and outside of the traditional classroom can be both exciting and rewarding.<\/p>\n
NAU faculty-led programs provide NAU students winter, spring break, and summer opportunities to study or do fieldwork abroad while also offering professional development to NAU faculty leaders. To receive our proposal guidelines, please contact the NAU Led coordinator<\/a>.<\/p>\n To introduce interested faculty to the proposal process, Education Abroad will host program proposal workshops during the Spring 2023 semester. Those wishing to plan a NAU Led program are welcome to contact our NAU Led coordinator<\/a> any time during the year.<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n\n <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n The University Studies Abroad Consortium (USAC)<\/a> is an NAU partner provider that hosts faculty and professional staff from member universities to teach abroad. Academic faculty support NAU’s departmental and campus internationalization by by teaching abroad, establishing contacts with foreign colleagues, developing relationships for research, enhancing their own foreign language skills, supporting study abroad and international education at NAU, and diversifying course curriculum.<\/p>\n USAC Visiting Professors teach two classes during semester programs abroad or one class during the summer term. Semester applicants and those on 12-month contracts must have Department Chair\/Dean approval.<\/p>\n We are happy to expand this program from 2023 to eighteen (18) VP spots<\/strong> for Summer 2024. Deadline to apply is June 1, 2023.<\/strong> Selected applicants will be notified by August 1.<\/p>\n USAC will award the selected VPs a flat, $5,000 stipend. This stipend is compensation for teaching and goes toward expenses (i.e. flight, housing, meals, etc.). VPs will make and pay for all their own travel and personal arrangements. USAC will assist with finding housing. International health insurance coverage via CISI at the same level as our students will be included and paid for by USAC.<\/p>\n There is a minimum requirement of<\/strong> at least five (5) students<\/strong> enrolled before the course (and thus the VP participation) will be confirmed. Faculty International Development Awards (FIDA) offers faculty and professional staff the opportunity to experience a USAC program as a participant in summer language programs. No previous language study is required. Participants are expected to assist in the promotion and recruitment of Education Abroad to NAU students upon return.
