Genio is an app that allows eligible students to record the lecture and receive a verbatim transcript from the uploaded audio file, or a live transcript. Additionally, the app provides robust learning and organizational tools that may support students with comprehending course concepts, studying, preparing for exams, and completing course assignments.<\/p>\n<p>Qualified student responsibilities:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Each semester that students eligible for this accommodation would like to use it, they will need to complete the process for Activating Accommodations in the <a href=\"http:\/\/draxess.nau.edu\">Student Portal<\/a> on the Disability Resources website. The<a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/ITmH03L_e4s\"> Activating Accommodations tutoria<\/a>l provides step-by-step instructions for how to complete this process.<\/li>\n<li>Check NAU email, including spam folder, for a Welcome Email from Genio with information on how to access the subscription.<\/li>\n<li>Register your user information on the Genio site; the link is in the welcome email<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>Important:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>The student&#8217;s individual Genio subscription expires at the end of each semester and is renewed each semester the accommodation is activated. To prevent delays accessing the Genio subscription, we recommend that students activate their accommodations early.<\/li>\n<li>Students can record the lecture using any recording device of their choosing, or record directly within the app.<\/li>\n<li>Students may access the recordings and transcripts at any time within the Genio app.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Genio supports:<\/h3>\n<p>Genio supports students by offering Student Classrooms, live half an hour sessions run by one of Genio\u2019s learning experts. During this time, students have the opportunity to ask questions and be signposted to further support resources.
