Students who are eligible for the Note-Taker Accommodation must register with Disability Resources<\/a> for the semester they want to use the accommodation, and must also make a request through the Student AXess Portal, for each class they require the accommodation.<\/p>\nOnce the student is registered and requests a note-taker for the needed classes, the process for receiving notes is as follows:<\/p>\n\nStudents are given access to a professional notetaking service. They are set up with a user ID and password, and emailed a link to the service.<\/li>\nThe student will record the lecture using any recording device of their choosing.<\/li>\nEach lecture recording is uploaded to the students notetaking service account by the student.<\/li>\nThe notetaking service will return a written summary of the lecture within 24 hours. Students are notified via email when the lecture summary is available.<\/li>\nStudents may view the lecture summary online or download a text version to their computer \/ mobile device.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/iframe><\/p>\n<h2>Directions for requesting a note-taker<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Navigate to the <a href=\"https:\/\/clockwork.nau.edu\/custom\/misc\/home.aspx\">Student Log-in to AXEss<\/a> link on the Disability Resources homepage.<\/li>\n<li>On this screen, find and select the icon that says, \u201c<strong>Course Notes<\/strong>\u201d.<\/li>\n<li>You should now see the \u201cCentral Authentication Service\u201d site where you will need to login with your NAU username and password.<\/li>\n<li>Once you are logged-in, find and select \u201cCourse\/Notes\u201d on the Note-Taking Program main screen.<\/li>\n<li>On this screen, select the correct term for which you are requesting note-takers using the drop down menu next to \u201c<strong>Show Term<\/strong>\u201d.<\/li>\n<li>Next, in the column labeled \u201c<strong>I require a note-taker<\/strong>\u201d select \u201c<strong>change this<\/strong>\u201d for each course in which you are requesting a note taker.<\/li>\n<li>Once you select \u201cchange this\u201d a pop up screen will appear asking you to confirm that you are requesting a note taker for the course. Selecting<\/li>\n<li>\u201c<strong>OK<\/strong>\u201d will change the note taker request from \u201cno\u201d to \u201cyes\u201d.<\/li>\n<li>Next, in the column labeled \u201c<strong>note-taker availability<\/strong>\u201d you should see \u201c<strong>None available at this time<\/strong>\u201d. This indicates that we are looking for a note taker for your course.<\/li>\n<li>Once a note taker is selected you will see \u201c<strong>selected<\/strong>\u201d under \u201c<strong>note-taker availability<\/strong>\u201d.<\/li>\n<li>Once you are finished make sure you log off the computer.
