{"id":1120,"date":"2018-04-13T20:09:39","date_gmt":"2018-04-13T20:09:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nau.edu\/sociology\/?page_id=1120"},"modified":"2024-08-05T16:55:40","modified_gmt":"2024-08-05T16:55:40","slug":"internship-defense-presentation","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/department-sociology\/internship-defense-presentation\/","title":{"rendered":"Internship Defense &#038; Presentation"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>Internship defense &amp; presentation<\/h1>\n<p>When the committee approves the final work, you will need to schedule a meeting for the\u00a0internship defense.\u00a0At the defense, you will present and discuss\u00a0your\u00a0internship manuscript and experience\u00a0to your committee and interested faculty for their approval.<\/p>\n<h2>Procedures<\/h2>\n<p>You will:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Find\u00a0a time that will work for all three committee members<\/li>\n<li>Contact the SBS Dean&#8217;s Office at 928-523-2672 to reserve a room<\/li>\n<li>Share this professional accomplishment with others by advertising the defense<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>What to bring to your defense<\/h2>\n<p>You should bring:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Your manuscript<\/li>\n<li>Any supporting documentation<\/li>\n<li>Master&#8217;s Oral Exam\u00a0(the committee chair must request from\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:Vicki.Endres@nau.edu\">the ETD Coordinator<\/a>): Your committee will sign this form following your successful internship defense.\u00a0\u00a0Once it has been signed, supply the department office with a photocopy for your file and deliver the original to the Office of Graduate and Professional Studies for processing.<\/li>\n<li>Internship\u00a0title page: After the defense, your committee will sign your manuscript&#8217;s title page in blue ink. You may want to bring extra copies for them to sign\u00a0if you are printing multiple copies of your manuscript&#8211;then, each copy will have an original, signed title page.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Follow the graduation procedures as indicated on page 9 of the <a href=\"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/department-sociology\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/355\/2018\/04\/2010studentguide2.pdf\">Student Guide<\/a>, providing the appropriate copies of documents to the department office.
