Goodman, Ph.D.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>Objective<\/h2>\n<p>The aim of the NAU Contemplative Psychophysiology Lab is to extend the scientific understanding of contemplative practices by examining how mindfulness and compassion influence emotion, memory, and the self.\u00a0 This research extends into applied domains, including geriatric care and education. Colton is interested in researching the psychophysiological effects of affective states, primarily disgust,\u00a0 and how they can lead to downstream pathogenesis of various anxiety disorders.
