The club promotes interactions with those who have similar interests, and engaging in experiences that will help you meet personal and professional goals. The two organizations meet together, adding to the fun and productivity. Each organization provides great opportunities for making important connections along with new friends! Below is additional information about each group.<\/p>\n<h2>What is Psychology Club?<\/h2>\n<p>Psychology Club is a group of students at Northern Arizona University who share a passion for psychology regardless of their majors or minors. Meetings include academic workshops, fun social events, guest speakers, and many opportunities to meet students and faculty with similar interests! Members gain access to faculty research presentations, graduate school panels, and individual or faculty research opportunities. They also are provided academic resources, such as KAPLAN test prep and tutoring. Psychology Club participates in several philanthropy and charity related events throughout both semesters, such as the Halloween Ball during the fall semester and Relay for Life in the spring semester. The club also hosts several other fun academic or social events throughout the school year, such as Neuro November, fundraisers, game nights, and more! Free food is also present at every member meeting. Flyers for the club meetings and events can be found around campus at places such as the Union or Social and Behavioral Sciences buildings. There are no prerequisites to membership in this club, we welcome both psychology and non-psychology majors.<\/p>\n<h2>What is Psi Chi?<\/h2>\n<p>Psi Chi is the international honor society in psychology. Its mission is \u201cto encourage, stimulate and maintain excellence in scholarship of the individual members in all fields, particularly in psychology, and to advance the science of psychology\u201d (Psi Chi, 2013). We provide information and opportunities to enhance members&#8217; professional and personal lives through our lively and encouraging environment, scholarship, and community service. Benefits include recognition of your academic excellence, eligibility for Psi Chi awards and grants, invitations to Psi Chi conferences, online access to the Psi Chi Journal of Psychological Research, a free GRE practice test, and more! Students who have completed 45 credits (9 of which must be within the psychology sciences) and maintain a grade point average of at least 3.4 are eligible to apply for membership!<\/p>\n<p>Psi Chi membership is available with or without attending the bi-weekly meetings with Psychology Club. To apply for Psi Chi, submit an<a href=\"https:\/\/www.psichi.org\/page\/JoinToday#.YyIfJXbMKM8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> application online<\/a>.\u00a0 This application will be reviewed by a faculty member and eligible students who have paid their dues will be inducted at the end of each semester.
