All undergraduate and graduate students take foundational coursework in statistics and research methods. The undergraduate major offers students a wide-ranging curriculum related to sub-discipline areas such as Cognitive Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Social Psychology and clinically-based classes, such as Abnormal Psychology and Interpersonal Processes. The Master of Arts program in Psychological Sciences prepares students for advanced study (Ph.D.\/Psy.D. programs) and jobs in behavioral health, organizational development, and non-profit work through completion of advanced methodological and analytical courses. Students in the MA program complete either an empirically-based written thesis or an internship and culminating experience project based on the internship.<\/p>\n
The Department has over 30 full-time faculty members with expertise in many psychological science sub-disciplines. Our faculty are dedicated to mentoring students and to offering opportunities for experiential learning, such as independent research, internship\/fieldwork and faculty-led study abroad experiences.<\/p>\n
