Become a Math Jack tutor at the Lumberjack Mathematics Center<\/strong><\/h2>\n
Thank you for your interest in becoming a tutor at the Northern Arizona University\u2019s Lumberjack Mathematics Center. This information outlines the qualifications for hire and the duties performed.<\/p>\n
Requirements and responsibilities of NAU Math Jacks tutors<\/h3>\n\n

\n
Requirements for Math Jacks tutors Accordion Closed<\/span><\/h4>\n <\/span>\n <\/div>\n <\/a>\n
\n \n\n
As an LMC tutor, students must:<\/p>\n
\n
be a currently enrolled undergraduate student at NAU<\/li>\n
be work-study or student-wage eligible<\/li>\n
maintain an overall 3.0 GPA<\/li>\n
have successfully completed:\n
\n
MAT 125 with a “B” or higher<\/li>\n
or<\/strong>, MAT 136<\/li>\n
or<\/strong>, MAT 121<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
successfully complete LMC tutor training during your first semester of employment<\/li>\n
be willing to work at least 7-10 hours per week<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/body><\/html>\n\n <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n \n

\n \n\n
As an LMC tutor, student responsibilities will include:<\/p>\n
\n
providing individual and\/or group assistance to students in MAT 100, MAT 108, MAT 114, or MAT 125 at the LMC<\/li>\n
assisting students with the development of study skills necessary for course<\/li>\n
attending training meetings as scheduled and\/or required<\/li>\n
maintaining accurate records of work hours and submitting timely payroll documentation to LMC Lab Manager<\/li>\n
accepting feedback provided via observation\/evaluation process<\/li>\n
supporting the mission of the LMC<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/body><\/html>\n\n <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n
