However, students are sometimes surprised by the amount of writing historians produce. As a student in NAU’s History programs, you will develop writing skills that will not only help you excel academically, but also help you to thrive in a variety of careers after college. Whether you find yourself defending a project proposal, writing a legal brief, or applying for a grant, research-backed persuasive writing is a critical career-ready skill which a History degree will help you master.

To help you flourish as a writer, the History Department hosts a Writing Lab where students can get assistance with their history assignments.

History Department Writing Lab

The History Writing Lab is open Monday through Thursday when classes are in session.
