Possession of an MA will better prepare you to excel in your chosen career and\/or any area of further advanced academic study.<\/p>\n<p>Please note that this is a challenging program for outstanding students who enjoy learning at an accelerated pace. Specifically, applicants must meet the following criteria:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Completed at least of 60 credit-hours with at least 30 of those credit-hours at NAU<\/li>\n<li>Achieved a cumulative GPA of at least a 3.0<\/li>\n<li>Completed at least 4 history classes (12 credit-hours), two of which must be upper-division<\/li>\n<li>Earned a GPA of at least 3.0 in history classes thus far.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>More information about the History MA degree can be found on the <a href=\"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/department-history\/graduate-degrees\/history-ma\/\">department website.<\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Applying<\/h2>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1956\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1956\" style=\"width: 150px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/department-history\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/335\/Screenshot-2025-02-12-172237.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-1956\" src=\"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/department-history\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/335\/Screenshot-2025-02-12-172237-150x150.png\" alt=\"Select the accelerated 4+1 program on page 6 of the graduate school application.\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/335\/Screenshot-2025-02-12-172237-150x150.png 150w, https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/335\/Screenshot-2025-02-12-172237-300x300.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1956\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Applicants must select the accelerated MA program on Page 6 of the MA application.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Students may apply to the Accelerated 4+1 MA program via <a href=\"https:\/\/www.applyweb.com\/northazg\/index.ftl\">NAU&#8217;s Online Graduate School Application.<\/a> When applying, be sure to select the History MA (Flagstaff Mountain) program.<\/p>\n<p>To be considered for the program, you <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>must<\/strong><\/span> check off <label for=\"NAUGRAD-ACCELERATED_CANDIDATE_YN_Y\">&#8220;<input id=\"NAUGRAD-ACCELERATED_CANDIDATE_YN_Y\" checked=\"checked\" name=\"NAUGRAD-ACCELERATED_CANDIDATE_YN\" type=\"radio\" value=\"Y\" data-awss-id=\"f1hbkx-naugrad_Y\" data-awss-resource=\"naugrad\" data-awss-resource-id=\"f1hbkx\" \/> I am applying to the <a href=\"https:\/\/legacy.nau.edu\/graduate-college\/accelerated-programs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">accelerated bachelor&#8217;s\/master&#8217;s<\/a> program&#8221; on Page 6 (Additional Information) of the application.<\/label><label for=\"NAUGRAD-ACCELERATED_CANDIDATE_YN_Not_Applicable\"><\/label><\/p>\n<p>There is no application fee.
