My degrees include a B.A. in Ancient Mediterranean Civilizations (Rice University, 2003, where I also competed in Cross-Country and Track &amp; Field) and a Ph.D. in Ancient History (University of Pennsylvania, 2010, where I briefly participated in a campus Shakespeare company). I seek to understand how these communities were able to maintain traditional practices and identities while interacting with and appropriating hegemonic Greek culture and power structures.
