Borozan Memorial Modern Languages \u200b\u200bScholarship \u2013 No Travel Required Accordion Closed<\/span><\/h4>\n <\/span>\n <\/div>\n <\/a>\n

(LOUIE Credit for GLC Majors & Minors \/ Undergrad and Grad Students)<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The Department of Global Languages ​​and Cultures announces the Borozan Memorial Modern Languages ​​Scholarship . <\/span>A total payout of $17,585.27 will be awarded to seven qualified students. <\/span>Each student will receive $2,512.18 disbursed as follows: $1,256.09 will be applied to their LOUIE accounts in Fall and $1,256.09 will be applied in Spring of the upcoming academic year. If tuition is already paid, and a student has no outstanding charges in LOUIE, s\/he\/they may take this money in the form of a refund. <\/span>Students must be full time and attending both semesters (current seniors should NOT apply unless they are an undergraduate planning on attending NAU for a degree in Spanish MAT).<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Other Regulations: All applicants must have been accepted to NAU and attend full time during the entire academic year. This scholarship will be awarded on the basis of merit, academic accomplishments, and to undergraduate and\/or graduate students who are pursuing a major or minor degree in a Global Language. <\/span>To apply, you must have a high school or college GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0-point scale and submit a completed application by 5:00 PM, Monday, April 13, 2026.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Submit the application form and the required attachments at Babbitt Academic Annex (Bldg 23) Room 108, or e-mail the application and all attachments in a single .pdf to Johanka.Colmenares@nau.edu<\/a><\/span><\/span>. <\/span>If students need to fax their materials they may do so to 928-523-0963.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The required attachments are:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

1. A resume (not to exceed 700 words).<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

2. An essay (not to exceed 700 words) explaining the following: <\/span><\/span>
\n    • Why you are studying a Modern\/Global Language? <\/span><\/span>
\n    • What plans do you have to use this language or these languages ​​in the future? <\/span><\/span>
\n    • Please explain whether you have studied abroad, where you studied, and\/or whether you intend to study abroad in the future. NOTE: This scholarship does NOT require students to study abroad.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

3. A signed “NAU’s Scholarship FERPA Statement” for release of information (form is second page of application).<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The committee will let the department know who the winners are within a week, so that all the students who applied can be contacted before the end of the current term bar under any extenuating circumstances.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Elaine Loven Memorial Scholarship \u2013 Preference to Germany and Europe Accordion Closed<\/span><\/h4>\n <\/span>\n <\/div>\n <\/a>\n

(Study Abroad Assistance for GLC Majors and Minors)<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The Elaine Loven Memorial Scholarship is for students who are studying abroad in the Fall and\/or Spring of the upcoming academic year. <\/span><\/span>$2,447.00<\/span><\/span><\/strong>  will be awarded to <\/span><\/span>one<\/span><\/span><\/strong> qualified student.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

This scholarship will be awarded on the basis of merit, academic achievements, and to undergraduate or graduate students who are pursuing a major or minor degree in a global language.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
