Department of Geography, Planning & Recreation<\/h1>\n

Northern Arizona University has been offering Bachelor of Science degrees in Recreation since 1961, and a Bachelor of Science in Geography since 1967, although geography courses have been taught at NAU since 1934. The department of Geography, Planning & Recreation (GPR), a unit within the college of Social and Behavioral Sciences, was created in 2003. The GPR department promotes experiential and applied educational experiences and serves both on campus and online students.<\/p>\n

The geography program<\/a> offers undergraduate and graduate degrees that \u00a0specialize in Community Planning and Development, Geospatial Technologies and Human-Environmental Systems.\u00a0The Parks and Recreation Management<\/a> (PRM) program\u00a0prepares professionals for rewarding positions in the exciting field of parks, recreation, and leisure services through traditional campus and web based courses.<\/p>\n
