Information session on Oct. 24 at 5 p.m. at the Center for International Education"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4>Learn more about the CCS study abroad program in Italy at the information session on Oct. 24 at 5:00 p.m. at the Center for International Education!<\/h4>\n<h5><strong>Summer Program with Dr. Woods in Siena Tuscany: Nature, Culture, and Sustainability<\/strong><\/h5>\n<h4>May 27-June 28, 2024<\/h4>\n<p>Led by Professor of Humanities Dr. Gioia Woods <a href=\"mailto:gioia.woods@nau.edu\">gioia.woods@nau.edu<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Medieval hill towns, ancient castles, iconic cuisine, and stunning landscape are part of the charms of Italy\u2019s Tuscan region. The home of Michelangelo\u2019s David and the birthplace of gelato, Tuscany boasts many treasures\u2014chief among them the millennia-old relationship between nature and culture.\u00a0This 6-unit program explores that relationship as it&#8217;s embodied in Tuscany&#8217;s art, architecture, agriculture, and cuisine.\u00a0Together we will\u00a0study\u00a0environmental and cultural\u00a0sustainability from the\u00a0ancient\u00a0Etruscan Federation to the\u00a0contemporary European Union.\u00a0Students will live and study in\u00a0the beautiful medieval walled city of Siena. There, we\u00a0will investigate the city\u2019s natural heritage and centuries-old cultural traditions.
