In the past 25 years, he has been the PI, co-PI or facilitator for nearly 3 dozen professional development workshops for in-service, K-14 science teachers.\u00a0He also created a nationally recognized workshop for Native American high school students with NASA, and their patch was flown on the Space Shuttle (STS-88).\u00a0He is a recipient of his university&#8217;s highest award for teaching (The Louie Award), given by its students.\u00a0 Over the years, Dr. Cole was an invited participant to eleven faculty development conferences, great teaching summits and the AAHE (American Association of Higher Education) Conference on Faculty Roles and Rewards.
