For current and past projects, the Lab has partnered with the Kaibab National Forest, the Bureau of Indian Affairs and the Navajo Nation, the Museum of Northern Arizona, and NAU\u2019s Interns-to-Scholars Programs. Through both collections research and archaeological excavations and surveys, the lab addresses questions of identity, culture contact, labor, and domesticity. The Historical Archaeology Lab also houses a growing type collection of historical artifacts from throughout Arizona.<\/p>\n<p>Arizona-based initiatives include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the Apex Field School from\u00a0Tusayan, in collaboration with Kaibab National Forest;<\/li>\n<li>the St. Michael\u2019s Mission Outhouse Collection Project from Window Rock, courtesy of a cooperative agreement with the Navajo Nation, Bureau of Indian Affairs, and Museum of Northern Arizona;<\/li>\n<li>the Joann W.
