Campus Hazing Transparency Report<\/h1>\n
Northern Arizona University promotes student organizations and the opportunities they provide for students. The University does not tolerate hazing by any affiliated group or individual. The University expects all students and organizations to observe and fully comply with state law, University policy, and applicable laws related to the prohibition of hazing.<\/p>\n
Hazing is prohibited in all forms at Northern Arizona University. Disciplinary action will be taken against individual students and student organizations found responsible for hazing on university property, at any university-sponsored activity, and on premises used or controlled by student organizations on or off campus.<\/p>\n
Hazing includes, but is not limited to, paddling in any form, physical or psychological shocks, late work sessions that interfere with scholastic activities, advocating or promoting alcohol or substance abuse, tests of endurance, submission of members or prospective members to potentially dangerous or hazardous circumstances or activities which have a foreseeable potential for resulting in personal injury, or any activity which by its nature may have a potential to cause mental distress, panic, human degradation, or embarrassment.<\/p>\n

The pledge class of Fall 2023 was subjected to hazing. Specifically, the hazing included demeaning actions such as spitting in a pledge’s face, locking pledges in a bathroom, calisthenics, and the consumption of disgusting concoctions.
