- Every student organization must meet the following requirements to be recognized by NAU – NOR Checklist Guide – 2026-2027<\/a>:\n

- Ensure new organization idea does not duplicate another organization<\/li>\n
- Full name of the organization<\/li>\n
- Membership of 5 currently enrolled students\n
- \n
- To align with the educational\u00a0and remedial\u00a0intent of the NAU student\/organizational conduct process, no officers and\/or\u00a0other\u00a0named individuals within a recognized student\u00a0organization found to be responsible\u00a0in an organizational\u00a0conduct proceeding may form a new organization until the sanctions have been completed.\u00a0Related, the Office of Leadership & Engagement may request a roster from a prospective organization to compare membership\u00a0to organizations not in good disciplinary standing.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
- Two<\/strong> officers (at least)\n
- \n
- must be registered for a minimum of 12 credits at NAU (exception provided to graduate students)<\/li>\n
- must have at least a 2.00 cumulative GPA<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
- Select two<\/strong> officers to be added to our Microsoft Teams channel<\/li>\n
- Active full-time NAU faculty\/staff advisor<\/li>\n
- Updated constitution\/bylaws with a non-discrimination statement, process for removing a member\/officer, compliance statement, and contingency statement\n

Process<\/h3>\n

- Submit the application to start a new organization through True Blue Connects<\/a>.\n
- \n
- Follow the step-by-step guide<\/a> to filling out the application<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
- The Office of Leadership & Engagement team will review your submission to ensure all requirements are met<\/li>\n
- You will receive an email once the submission has been reviewed and all requirements are met. The email will include instructions on the required Officer Training, which must be completed to become fully active.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n
