Each year, NAU and the City of Flagstaff collaborate to help students living off campus responsibly donate or recycle unwanted items. Together we can improve our neighborhoods, keep reusable items out of our landfill, and support local sustainability efforts.
This year we partnered with the Flagstaff Sustainability Program, Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona, University Housing, and University Transit Services to expand the Donate Don’t Ditch efforts and make it easy for off-campus students to donate gently used items.
Donate, Don’t Ditch
April 28 and May 5, 2021
9 AM – 12 PM
Goodwill will be in the parking lot behind Cline Library. Don’t miss out on this chance to clean out your closet and support your community. Donated items must be in clean and good condition – please review what can and cannot be accepted.
May 3 – 7, 2021
If you live in La Plaza Vieja, Southside, or Rio Homes, you can place your donatable items on the curb by 10 AM on the fore mentioned days. Only donatable items will be picked up – please review what can and cannot be accepted. For other bulky items, please check your bulky collection schedule at www.recyclebycity.com/flagstaff.
Participating Apartment Complexes
May 3 – 7, 2021
Several apartment complexes will have a donation bin located in a common area. Check at your front desk and ask if your apartment complex is participating.
Dispose of hazardous materials
The Flagstaff Hazardous Products Center is a great place to dispose electronic and other hazardous items for recycling or proper disposal.
