NASA continues PLANETS, an out-of-school time program

Posted by hipaa on September 24, 2020

PLANETS received an extension from NASA for another 5 years of our cooperative agreement! Planetary Learning that Advances the Nexus of Engineering, Technology, and Science (PLANETS) is an out-of-school time (OST) program for youth in grades 3–8 that provides STEM learning with an emphasis on integrating NASA planetary science and engineering, particularly for underserved audiences. The extension is to optimize learning, engagement, and broader use through effective practices for both STEM learning and diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility (DEIA) with existing units: Remote Sensing, Water in Extreme Environments, and Space Hazards. Particular attention will be given to three target audiences: youth with physical disabilities, Native Americans, and English language learners. Check us out at www.planets-stem.org.
