Our clinic is available for community members and students of all ages, newborn through geriatric.<\/p>\n
Students, faculty, staff, and persons served in the NAU Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic are treated in a nondiscriminatory manner — that is, without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national or ethnic origin, disability, age, sexual orientation, genetic information, citizenship, or status as a covered veteran. \u00a0Northern Arizona University and the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and executive orders pertaining thereto.<\/p>\n
Services are provided by graduate student clinicians working toward their master’s degrees in speech\/language pathology. The graduate clinicians evaluate and treat clients under the direct supervision of clinical faculty certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).<\/p>\n
The clinic offers a full range of speech, language, and hearing services,\u00a0\u00a0including but not limited to voice evaluation and treatment, cognitive retraining, audiological evaluation and hearing aid dispensing.<\/p>\n

At the Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic, we provide services for the following conditions and disorders:<\/p>\n
We offer free speech, language, and hearing screenings at our NAU clinic for children ages 0-5. This is a great opportunity for parents that may have concerns about their child’s communication development. The screenings typically take about 30 minutes and assess the child’s communication skills.\u00a0 At the conclusion of the screenings, we will discuss whether there is a need for further evaluation.\u00a0 Appointments can be set-up by contacting the NAU Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic at 928-523-8110<\/a> or shclinic@nau.edu<\/a>.<\/p>\n Speech and Language services are on a fee-for-service basis. Clients can be provided with a form to send to their private health insurance for possible reimbursement (it is up to each client to seek reimbursement).
