CSDCAS application must be marked &ldquo;Complete&rdquo; by this date and &ldquo;Verified&rdquo; by February 15th.\n<ul>\n<li>Applicants can view the status of all of their CSDCAS applications on the &lsquo;Check Status&rsquo; tab at the top right of the application portal.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Early February to Mid-March<\/strong>: Invitations sent.<\/li>\n<li><strong>April 15<\/strong>: Deadline to accept offer; waitlist applicants contacted.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Early June<\/strong>: Summer track students begin courses on Flagstaff or Yuma campus.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Late August<\/strong>: Full-time and Leveler students begin courses on Flagstaff campus.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/p><\/body><\/html>\n<\/div>\n          <\/div>\n  <\/div>\n\n<h3>Foundational and Prerequisite Course Requirements<\/h3>\n<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.asha.org\/Certification\/2020-SLP-Certification-Standards\/#3\">ASHA 2020 Standards (IV-A)<\/a>\u00a0require that applicants for the Certificate of Clinical Competence must have demonstrated knowledge of the biological sciences, physical sciences, statistics, and the social\/behavioral sciences. At the time of program admission, you must have at least one 3-credit course in each of the following areas:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Biological Sciences (human or animal sciences for Biology majors, e.g., biology, human anatomy &amp; physiology, neuroanatomy, neurophysiology, human genetics, and veterinary science). The introductory course for Biology majors (BIO 181 in Arizona universities) will meet this requirement. Lab not required.<\/li>\n<li>Physical Sciences (physics or chemistry). Lab not required. No longer allowed: Astronomy, archaeology, forestry, geology, earth and environmental science.<\/li>\n<li>Social\/Behavioral Sciences (psychology, sociology, anthropology or public health).<\/li>\n<li>Statistics (course with \u201cstatistics\u201d in the title). Not allowed: Research methodology.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Prerequisite Course Content Area Requirements:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Phonetics<\/li>\n<li>Anatomy and Physiology of Speech and Language<\/li>\n<li>Language Development in Children<\/li>\n<li>Speech Science<\/li>\n<li>Hearing Science<\/li>\n<li>Neurological Foundations of Speech, Language and Hearing (If not previously taken, this course will be integrated into your graduate program of study.)<\/li>\n<li>Survey of Audiology<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The title of an equivalent course should contain the same key word(s) as those in the descriptive titles above.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>GPA<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Applicants generally should have an undergraduate GPA of at least 3.0. Grades of \u00a0\u201cC\u201d or below in prerequisite courses are not competitive and you may want to re-take those courses.<\/p>\n<h3>Registering for Prerequisite Courses at NAU<\/h3>\n<p>Refer to the <a href=\"https:\/\/legacy.nau.edu\/registrar\/\">Registrar\u2019s web page<\/a> for calendars and course schedules by semester. You may apply for admission to NAU as either a degree-seeking or a non-degree-seeking student at either the <a href=\"https:\/\/legacy.nau.edu\/admissions\/\">undergraduate<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/legacy.nau.edu\/graduate-college\/admissions\/\">graduate<\/a> level.
