\nPROJECT TO BE INITIATED IN 2018<\/strong>
\nProject Title: RECREATIONAL BOATING SURVEY AT LEWISVILLE LAKE, TEXAS AND JOE POOL LAKE, TEXAS<\/strong>
\nResponses to this Request for Statements of Interest will be used to identify potential investigators for a project to be funded by US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) which provides professional and technical support for its Civil Works mission. Approximately $375,000 is expected to be available to support this project.
\nBackground:<\/strong>
\nConduct a Recreational Boating Survey (RBS) at both Lewisville Lake, Texas and Joe Pool Lake, Texas. The recipient\/cooperator agrees to accomplish the following general tasks at each survey location:
\n\u2022 Utilization counts at boat ramp parking lots including unauthorized parking.
\n\u2022 Marina slip occupancy counts at existing marinas.
\n\u2022 Empty boat trailer counts in all campgrounds.
\n\u2022 Empty boat trailer counts in designated day use areas where appropriate.
\n\u2022 On-the-water vessel counts at specified times and locations.
\n\u2022 Conduct boat ramp exit surveys at specified boat ramps.
\n\u2022 Administer the Marina Tenant and Stakeholder surveys.
\n\u2022 Preparation of a report summarizing the count and survey data.
\nNote: Must be a non-federal partner in the CESU Unit to be qualified to be considered.
\nBrief Description of Anticipated Work:<\/strong>
\nThis research focuses on the following objectives:
\n1. Conduct Kickoff Meetings for Lewisville Lake and Joe Pool Lake RBS
\nThe goal of this task is to ensure the recipient\/cooperator, the Regional Planning & Environmental Center (RPEC), and Fort Worth District Operations key personnel understand the purpose and process of the RBS and the timeline for accomplishing the overall tasks.
\n\u2022 Conduct separate kick-off meetings with Fort Worth District Operations and RPEC Master Planning staffs at Lewisville Lake and Joe Pool Lake, respectively.
\n\u2022 Discuss and confirm the count and survey process, schedule and deliverables, and conduct a site visit.
\n\u2022 Prepare a separate work plan for each lake location.
\n\u2022 Review government furnished material.

\nd. Any brief description of capabilities to successfully complete the project you may wish to add (e.g. equipment, laboratory facilities, greenhouse facilities, field facilities, etc.).
\nNote:<\/strong> A full study proposal and proposed budget are NOT requested at this time.
\nReview of Statements Received: All statements of interest received will be evaluated by a board comprised of one or more people at the receiving installation or activity, who will determine which statement(s) best meet the program objectives. Based on a review of the Statements of Interest received, an investigator or investigators will be invited to prepare a full study proposal. Statements will be evaluated based on the investigator\u2019s specific experience and capabilities in areas related to the study requirements.
