The university&#8217;s policies that apply to students are available in the <a href=\"http:\/\/legacy.nau.edu\/university-policies\/\">NAU Policy Listing<\/a> and academic policies are included in the <a href=\"http:\/\/catalog.nau.edu\/\">University Catalog.<\/a> In addition, there are policies under the purview of individual offices\/departments.<\/p>\n\n\n<section         class=\"nau-article-block-simple-color-text-photo bg-twilight  hasLink\">\n    \n\n    \n        <hr role=\"none\" class=\"hr-clearspace-20 d-none-md\">\n\n        <h3>Resolving issues<\/h3>                <p>When a student encounters a problem on campus or feels they have been treated unfairly, the student should:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>First try to resolve the issue informally with the faculty\/staff member or department involved directly with the issue. Many times this can be resolved if a student makes an appointment with a faculty or staff member and communicates their concerns.<\/li>\n<li>If an issue cannot be resolved at this level, a student may contact the designated administrator of the department or unit for information on how to proceed with a formal complaint.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n                <a href=\"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/formal-complaint-process\/\" target=\"\" class=\"link link_padding\">Formal complaint<\/a>\n        \n\n<\/section>\n\n<section         class=\"nau-article-block-simple-color-text-photo bg-sunset  hasLink\">\n    \n\n    \n        <hr role=\"none\" class=\"hr-clearspace-20 d-none-md\">\n\n        <h3>Grade appeals and academic integrity<\/h3>                <p>If the issue involves a dispute concerning a grade, there is a grade appeal process. If the issue involves an allegation of academic dishonesty, please review the <u><a href=\"https:\/\/www9.nau.edu\/policies\/Client\/Details\/621?whoIsLooking=All&amp;pertainsTo=All&amp;sortDirection=Ascending&amp;page=1&amp;expand=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">academic integrity policy<\/a>.<\/u><\/p>\n\n                <a href=\"https:\/\/www9.nau.edu\/policies\/Client\/Details\/686?whoIsLooking=Students&#038;pertainsTo=All&#038;sortDirection=Ascending&#038;page=3&#038;expand=1\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"link link_padding\">Grade appeals process<\/a>\n        \n\n<\/section>\n\n<section         class=\"nau-article-block-simple-color-text-photo bg-monsoon  hasLink\">\n    \n\n    \n        <hr role=\"none\" class=\"hr-clearspace-20 d-none-md\">\n\n        <h3>Escalation procedures<\/h3>                <p>If an issue submitted to NAU by a student is left unresolved and involves a complaint arising under State laws, Arizona Board of Regents policy, or any other matter, the student may contact the designated senior administrator of the university unit in which the issue originated or the Arizona Board of Regents (in accordance with 75 Fed. Reg. 66865-66, Oct. 29, 2010), by visiting ABOR sites, submitting a <a href=\"http:\/\/fs6.formsite.com\/trocvisn\/form8\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">request directly<\/a> or call the ABOR office at\u00a0<a id=\"tel-16022292511602-229-2511\" href=\"tel:16022292511\">602-229-2511<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n                <a href=\"https:\/\/www.azregents.edu\/contact-us\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"link link_padding\">Arizona Board of Regents<\/a>\n        \n\n<\/section>\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Other resolution options<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Students have the right to contact higher education regulatory agencies or an accrediting agency contacts for specific issues.
