His strong running helped propel the NAU men to their <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/nauathletics.com\/news\/2022\/11\/19\/cross-country-nau-men-win-third-straight-national-championship-women-finish-sixth.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">third consecutive national championship title<\/a>.&nbsp;Congratulations&nbsp;Drew, and thanks for bringing the trophy by for a visit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Claire Simchuk and Michael Rivera<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Geography, Planning, and Recreation students illuminate diversity in <em>Shades of Route 66<\/em> exhibit<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Congratulations to Claire Simchuk and Michael&nbsp;Rivera, undergraduate students in the Department of Geography, Planning, and Recreation, who provided ArcGIS geographic analysis that helped bring Ivan Pacheco and Lazarus Melan\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/storymaps.arcgis.com\/stories\/c6aa627ec61041fb89450b5db69750fd\"><em>Shades of Route 66: Celebrating Diversity along Historic Route 66 in the State of Arizona<\/em><\/a> online exhibit to life. They created a powerful story map that will lead to increased opportunity and national recognition for the upcoming Centennial Celebration of Route 66.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Charlie Dors<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Featured on NAU Stories and presenting at the 2023 Undergraduate Symposium<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Congratulations to Charlie Dors, a first-generation student double majoring in&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/legacy.nau.edu\/pia\/bs-political-science\/\">Political Science<\/a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/legacy.nau.edu\/sociology\/sociology-bachelor-of-science\/\">Sociology<\/a>. Working with their mentors&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/directory.nau.edu\/?person=vd295\">Victoria Damjanovic<\/a>, assistant professor in special and early childhood education, and James Bowie, teaching professor, Department of Sociology, Charlie is part of a faculty research project called \u201cInquiry-Based Teaching and Learning with Teachers and Children.\u201d Specifically, their work focuses on gender and gender stereotypes in the pre-primary education space. Amber is an enthusiastic educator who goes above and beyond to inspire professional integrity and strengthen students&#8217; desire to make a positive difference and reach their full potential.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Brooke&nbsp;A.&nbsp;de Heer, Jessie K.&nbsp;Finch, and Nancy Wonders<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><em>Solutions to Structural Inequities: Busting Myths and Reimagining Critical Justice<\/em><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Congratulations to Brooke&nbsp;A.&nbsp;de Heer, assistant professor, Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice; Jessie K.&nbsp;Finch, chair, Sociology, Department of Sociology; and Nancy Wonders, professor, Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice for their book <em>Solutions to Structural Inequities: Busting Myths and Reimagining Critical Justice<\/em>. They presented research from the book to NAU students on April 11, 2023.
