Students explore the ins and outs of cultures, methods and artifacts, and other parts of the discipline through presentations, demonstrations, field trips, and hands-on crafting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>TravelEd<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/794483337242006\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Trave<\/strong>l<strong>Ed<\/strong><\/a> (Travel Education) is a student group that seeks to educate themselves and their peers about archaeology areas near NAU and the surrounding Southwest US.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Student Association of Graduate Anthropologists<\/strong> (SAGA)<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/legacy.nau.edu\/anthropology\/clubs-and-organizations\/\">Student Association of Graduate Anthropologists<\/a> seeks to improve the overall Anthropology graduate student education experience at NAU.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"Indigenous\">Applied Indigenous Studies<\/h3>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Connecting Higher Ed Indigenously<\/strong> (CHEI)<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Connecting Higher Ed Indigenously is a student organization dedicated to working with Indigenous communities in Arizona and throughout the world. CHEI members work to promote higher education for Indigenous students through a variety of activities and programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"Communication\">School of Communication<\/h3>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Delta Sigma Rho-Tau Kappa Alpha<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Delta Sigma Rho-Tau Kappa Alpha is an intercollegiate honor society devoted to public speaking and forensics. The team attends the national conference where students compete with students from other DSR-TKA member schools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>NAU Forensics<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/forensics-team\/\">NAU Forensics<\/a> is a competitive student team that practices and competes at local, regional, and national speech and debate tournaments each year.&nbsp;Their goal is to improve skills in speaking, listening, research, writing, and reasoning through hands-on practice and competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">S<strong>peech Communication Association<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The Speech Communication Association is an association of students interested in speech communication courses. Members present papers at professional meetings, provide service for speech activities in the School of Communication, and regularly meet with distinguished speech scholars from other campuses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Phi Alpha Delta<\/strong> (PAD)<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/legacy.nau.edu\/communication\/clubs-organizations\/\">Phi Alpha Delta<\/a> is the nation&#8217;s largest law fraternity. Members develop contacts with PAD law students, legal educators, attorneys, and judges. Pre-law students meet with law students at prospective law schools, and chapters sponsor educational lectures, panels, and discussions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Public Relations Student Society of America<\/strong> (PRSSA)<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/nau.campuslabs.com\/engage\/organization\/prssa\">Public Relations Student Society of America<\/a>&nbsp;is the leading organization for students interested in public relations and communications. This group seeks to advance the public relations profession by nurturing generations of future professionals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Lambda Pi Eta<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/legacy.nau.edu\/communication\/clubs-organizations\/\">Lambda Pi Eta<\/a><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong>is an intercollegiate honor society for speech communication undergraduate students.&nbsp;Students also participate in the NAU Speech Communication Association (SCA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>National Press Photographers Association<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The National Press Photographers Association&nbsp;is a professional organization dedicated to print and broadcast photojournalism. Students attend workshops and conventions, receive reduced rates on equipment, and have access to a forum for nationwide job listings. They also receive professional assistance with portfolio creation, entering photography competitions, and finding summer internships and scholarships.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Northern Arizona Merchandising Association<\/strong> (NAMA)<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/nau.campuslabs.com\/engage\/organization\/fashionmerchandising\" target=\"_blank\">Northern Arizona Merchandising Association<\/a> is a student organization that provides merchandising majors and minors opportunities for real-world experiences in the world of fashion. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>PJ\/One<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>PJ\/One is a student and community photography and photojournalism group that promotes and encourages photojournalism at the university, Flagstaff, and the Southwest region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Society of Environmental Communication<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>Society of Environmental Communication<\/strong> provides a multi-disciplinary forum for environmentally-conscious NAU students to express and apply their ideas and opinions. They endeavor to enhance community environmental awareness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Society of Professional Journalists<\/strong> (SPJ)<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/legacy.nau.edu\/communication\/clubs-organizations\/\">Society of Professional Journalists<\/a>&nbsp;is a network of journalists across the country. Members have access to a database of breaking news and are eligible for scholarships, fellowships, and internships. Additional benefits of membership include insurance, health plans, discounted travel, and professional clothing. Students become well-versed in First Amendment rights, ethics that govern the profession, and the relationship that exists between the public, government, and the press.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>UTV62<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.utv62.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">UTV62<\/a> is the School of Communication&#8217;s student-run television station and production studio. Based on entertainment industry models, students gain practical knowledge and experience working in areas that interest them, including programming, writing, production, marketing, and graphic design.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The Lumberjack<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jackcentral.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The Lumberjack<\/a>&nbsp;is NAU\u2019s award-winning student newspaper. As the student voice of NAU, the Lumberjack provides information, a forum for the NAU community, and professional experiences for aspiring journalists interested in working on a campus newspaper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>KJACK RADIO<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.kjackradio.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">KJACK RADIO<\/a> is a radio programming service originating in the School of Communication. Students can receive course credit for working at the station (1680 AM radio on campus). The program genre for KJACK is alternative rock with specialty shows featuring differing musical styles, cultural influences, and newscasts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>NA<\/strong>Z Today<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.naztoday.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">NAZ Today<\/a> is a media lab that provides news and entertainment programming that&#8217;s written, produced, and directed by students under the supervision of a faculty advisor. Students produce news programs, magazine shows, dramas, and comedy shows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"Criminology\">Criminology and Criminal Justice<\/h3>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Criminal Justice Club<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/legacy.nau.edu\/criminology-and-criminal-justice\/student-clubs-organizations\/\">Criminal Justice Club<\/a> connects&nbsp;all students who have an interest in criminal justice, whether majoring in the field or not. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Alpha Phi Sigma<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/legacy.nau.edu\/criminology-and-criminal-justice\/student-clubs-organizations\/\">Alpha Phi Sigma<\/a> is a national criminal justice honor society&nbsp;for criminal justice majors. Supported by the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences, Alpha Phi Sigma recognizes the academic excellence of undergraduate and graduate students of criminal justice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Criminology and Criminal Justice Graduate Student Association<\/strong> (GSA)<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/legacy.nau.edu\/criminology-and-criminal-justice\/student-clubs-organizations\/\">Criminology and Criminal Justice Graduate Student Association<\/a> was established to create a sense of community among criminology graduate students, faculty, and staff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"Ethnic\">Ethnic Studies<\/h3>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>African Student Association<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/legacy.nau.edu\/ethnic-studies\/clubs-orgs\/\">African Student Association<\/a> promotes African culture within the university, community, and association. It supports and assists African students at NAU, and works with other campus organizations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Black Student Union<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/legacy.nau.edu\/ethnic-studies\/clubs-orgs\/\">Black Student Union<\/a> is an NAU organization established for the purpose of motivating students to stay actively involved on campus. This organization coordinates activities to strengthen cultural awareness and provides a professionally organized body of students on campus that deal with social, cultural, and educational issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Chinese Student and Scholar Association<\/strong> (CSSA)<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/legacy.nau.edu\/ethnic-studies\/clubs-orgs\/\">Chinese Student and Scholar Association<\/a>&nbsp;is a non-profit organization that introduces and shares Chinese culture. It helps Chinese students and scholars in aspects of daily life and career development in the US.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Gamma Alpha Omega<\/strong> (GAO)<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/legacy.nau.edu\/ethnic-studies\/clubs-orgs\/\">Gamma Alpha Omega<\/a>&nbsp;is a Latina-founded community service sorority established in 2002. They serve the community and promote the quest for higher education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">HAPA Hawaiian Club<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Members of the <a href=\"https:\/\/legacy.nau.edu\/ethnic-studies\/clubs-orgs\/\">HAPA Hawaiian Club<\/a> include students from Hawaii and all over the Continental US. Through interaction with one another, members are able to share and teach others about their culture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Hispanic Honor Society<\/strong> (HHS)<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/legacy.nau.edu\/ethnic-studies\/clubs-orgs\/\">Hispanic Honor Society<\/a> is an honorary service society. They embody the ideals of character, culture, leadership, scholarship, and service while promoting the Hispanic culture at NAU and in the Flagstaff community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>International Club<\/strong> (I-Club)<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/legacy.nau.edu\/ethnic-studies\/clubs-orgs\/\">International Club<\/a> at NAU is a social club with the goal of spreading cultural awareness throughout NAU and Flagstaff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Kappa Delta Chi<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/legacy.nau.edu\/ethnic-studies\/clubs-orgs\/\">Kappa Delta Chi<\/a> promotes the values of unity, honesty, integrity, and leadership among women at all colleges and universities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"Politics\">Politics and International Affairs<\/h3>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Model United Nations<\/strong> (MUN)<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/legacy.nau.edu\/pia\/model-un\/\">Model United Nations<\/a> is an award-winning student organization at NAU. Participants learn about the workings and theory of the United Nations with simulated sessions at intercollegiate conferences. Students represent different members of the world community, getting to know and understand specific governments while they develop solutions to global issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"Psychological\">Psychological Sciences<\/h3>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Psychology Club<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/psychological-sciences\/clubs-information\/\">Psychology Club<\/a> is a group of hyper-vigilant, motivated, and fun individuals who cultivate a community around the field of psychology. They work in tandem with the Psi Chi Honor Society to plan fun activities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Psi Chi<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/psychological-sciences\/clubs-information\/\">Psi Chi<\/a> is the psychology international honor society. They provide information and opportunities to enhance members&#8217; professional and personal lives through a lively and encouraging environment, scholarship, and community service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Student Affiliates in School Psychology<\/strong> (SASP)<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The purpose of <a href=\"https:\/\/nau.campuslabs.com\/engage\/organization\/sasp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Student Affiliates in School Psychology<\/a> is to promote the academic and professional success of NAU&#8217;s School of Psychology students.
