Northern Arizona University’s Yuma campus has launched a speech-language pathology (SLP) master’s program to address the shortage of SLPs in local schools. Initiated two years ago at the request of Yuma’s special education community, the program’s first cohort is set to graduate with over half planning to remain in the area. This will double the number of SLPs in Yuma’s school districts. More than 90% of the graduates are bilingual, aligning with the linguistic needs of the region’s diverse student population. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
