US News & World Report ranks CHHS careers among top 20 jobs in health care

U.S. News & World Report has released its 2026 rankings of the best health care jobs, and programs offered through Northern Arizona University’s College of Health and Human Services (CHHS) are preparing students for many of the nation’s top-ranked careers. This year’s rankings were determined by salary data, unemployment rate, and projected job growth as determined by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Several CHHS supported careers swept the top placements. Physician assistants took the No. 2 spot on the list, with speech-language pathologists following at No.3. Occupational therapists earned the No. 6 spot, along with dental hygienists at No. 7, and physical therapists at No.14.

Students can pursue these high-demand careers with a degree from the nationally recognized programs within NAU’s College of Health and Human Services. With hands-on clinical experiences, expert faculty, and strong career outcomes, CHHS prepares graduates to succeed in today’s evolving health care workforce. Learn more about CHHS programs and take the next step toward a top-ranked career.
