At its March 30\u2013April 2 meeting in 2002, the APA Commission on Accreditation (CoA) voted to grant full accreditation of this program, with its next site visit scheduled in 2031. To view the program\u2019s accreditations status, please visit the APA Office of Program Consultation and Accreditation\u2019s program search site. Questions related to the program\u2019s accreditation status should be directed to the Commission on Accreditation.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, the APA CoA has issued a Notice of Actions indicating that the <strong>NAU Clinical Psychology (PsyD) program<\/strong> has been granted initial accreditation, on contingency. According to the CoA Accreditation Operating Procedures, \u201c\u2018Accreditation, on contingency\u2019 is granted to a doctoral program when the program demonstrates initial evidence of educational quality consistent with the SoA [Standards of Accreditation] and the capacity to meet all accreditation standards in the designated time frame. Review for this status requires matriculation of students, clinical evaluations of students in practicum, evidence of the integration of science and practice, and significant resource allocation.\u201d Students who complete a program that is recognized as \u201cAccreditation, on contingency\u201d effective before their graduation date will have completed an APA-accredited program. Accreditation is effective from the last date of the site visit, February 25, 2022. The CoA will conduct its next review of the NAU program in 2025, at which time the program will be considered for full accreditation status.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Questions <\/strong>related to the two programs\u2019 accreditation status should be directed to the Commission of Accreditation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The American Psychological Association Office of Program Consultation and Accreditation<br>750 First Street, NE<br>Washington, D.C. 20002-4242<br><a href=\"tel:202-336-5979\">202-336-5979<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:35px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/legacy.nau.edu\/COE\/Ed-Psych\/Degrees-Programs\/Graduate\/MEd-School-Counseling\/\">MEd School Counseling<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/legacy.nau.edu\/COE\/Ed-Psych\/Degrees-Programs\/Graduate\/MA-Counseling\/\">MA Counseling<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>programs were first accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP) in 1998. These programs have maintained continuous accreditation status, which is valid through October 31, 2030.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>More than 23 education programs across four colleges at Northern Arizona University have been nationally accredited through the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP)\u2014making NAU one of 471 providers from 36 states to be honored with this distinction. In fall 2017, the NAU College of Education received notice from the CAEP Board that all bids for re-accreditation were accepted with no stipulations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:35px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>National Association of School Psychologists (NASP)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\u00a0programs in Northern Arizona University\u2019s\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/legacy.nau.edu\/COE\/Ed-Psych\/\">Department of Educational Psychology<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0have received full approval from the National Association of School Psychologists. The department, which is home to\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/legacy.nau.edu\/COE\/Ed-Psych\/Degrees-Programs\/Graduate\/\">master\u2019s<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/legacy.nau.edu\/COE\/Ed-Psych\/Degrees-Programs\/Doctoral\/\">PhD programs<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0in school psychology, earned accreditation without any provisions through August 1, 2028.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:35px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>PsyD accreditation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The APA Commission on Accreditation (CoA) has issued a Notice of Actions indicating that the NAU Doctor of Clinical Psychology (PsyD), has been granted initial Accreditation, on contingency.
