Centering students and their post-secondary futures, the 48GP defines the foundational knowledge, digital competencies, and human skills they need to thrive in our rapidly evolving world shaped by emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence. Use these <a href=\"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/college-education\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/359\/2025\/12\/State48.SectorEngagement.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">guiding questions<\/a>&nbsp;to reflect on opportunities to adopt, support, or endorse it in ways that align with your organization\u2019s mission and goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Frequently asked questions<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-pb-accordion-item c-accordion__item js-accordion-item no-js\" data-initially-open=\"false\" data-click-to-close=\"true\" data-auto-close=\"true\" data-scroll=\"false\" data-scroll-offset=\"0\"><h5 id=\"at-262730\" class=\"c-accordion__title js-accordion-controller\" role=\"button\"><strong>Who developed the State 48 Graduate Profile?<\/strong><\/h5><div id=\"ac-262730\" class=\"c-accordion__content\">\n<p>The 48GP emerged from Arizona\u2019s collective commitment to place students and their futures at the heart of education. It was not created by a small group of \u201cexperts\u201d in isolation, but by Arizona\u2019s educators, business and industry leaders, nonprofit organizations, families, and students. The framework reflects a year-long, five-phase process that gathered insights from all 15 counties \u2013 ensuring it represents the collective voices of our state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Phase 1:<\/strong> 70 leaders representing education, business, and industry identified key skills and competencies Arizona students need now and in the future.<\/li><li><strong>Phase 2:<\/strong> A statewide survey of more than 3,000 teachers, family members, students, and business leaders revealed strong consensus on the skills and competencies most important for high school graduates.<\/li><li><strong>Phase 3:<\/strong> Hundreds of high school students weighed in on the learning outcomes they most need to feel prepared for life after high school.<\/li><li><strong>Phase 4:<\/strong> The <a href=\"https:\/\/scitechinstitute.org\/\">SciTech Institute<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/azedfoundation.org\/\">Arizona Educational Foundation (AEF)<\/a> helped shape the language and nuance of these skills and competencies.<\/li><li><strong>Phase 5:<\/strong> Hundreds of individuals representing education, business, philanthropy, and nonprofit organizations provided input that further refined Arizona\u2019s shared ideals.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>At the conclusion of this process, over 200 Arizona organizations offered their collective \u201cgreen light\u201d on this version of the 48GP.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-pb-accordion-item c-accordion__item js-accordion-item no-js\" data-initially-open=\"false\" data-click-to-close=\"true\" data-auto-close=\"true\" data-scroll=\"false\" data-scroll-offset=\"0\"><h5 id=\"at-262731\" class=\"c-accordion__title js-accordion-controller\" role=\"button\"><strong>How can my school or district adopt it?<\/strong><\/h5><div id=\"ac-262731\" class=\"c-accordion__content\">\n<p>The State 48 Graduate Profile is designed for adoption or alignment by any Arizona school, district, or organization. And we think there is even more power in using a statewide profile to unify AZ school systems in a common vision for education. However, the 48GP is not a mandate \u2013 it is a north star that organizations can use to inspire student-centered, future-focused learning models. Schools and districts may adopt all or part (e.g., the 4 Futures) of the 48GP; they may also adapt it to better meet their needs.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-pb-accordion-item c-accordion__item js-accordion-item no-js\" data-initially-open=\"false\" data-click-to-close=\"true\" data-auto-close=\"true\" data-scroll=\"false\" data-scroll-offset=\"0\"><h5 id=\"at-262734\" class=\"c-accordion__title js-accordion-controller\" role=\"button\"><strong>What if our district or school already has a profile or portrait of a graduate?<\/strong><\/h5><div id=\"ac-262734\" class=\"c-accordion__content\">\n<p>While there is no requirement or mandate to adopt the 48GP, we encourage school systems that already have a profile or portrait of a graduate to consider adding the <em>4 Futures<\/em> to their existing Profile\/Portrait right away, and the <em>8 Essentials<\/em> when it comes time to revisit their existing Profile\/Portrait.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Inquiries and contact information<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The State 48 Graduate Profile is a first version that reflects the collective voice of Arizonans.
