Find an intern program

FAQs for internship providers

How do I request an intern?

The process is easy. Simply submit an Intern Request Form to Suzanne Siler.

What is required?

The paid internship experience is taken seriously and given academic course credits. To ensure the experience is fully valued on the part of the student, we do ask that you cooperate with the intern in achieving their minimum requirements and fulfilling their online class component. Minimum requirements information HERE.

How might students fit into my organization?

Flexible student work schedules can be a plus to meet specific project needs. This boost in your manpower is also a cost effective way to expand your workforce without a long term commitment.

How do I become an employer-partner?

  1. Contact the Career Development Office Program Coordinator or Director
Indicate available position(s) and requirements and qualifications.
  2. Job Description/Announcement
Provide a detailed job description/announcement indicating responsibilities and necessary skills.  For academic credit, the percentage of time spent on each duty must be indicated on the job description before a position can be approved.  Employers decide whom to interview and hire.
  3. Work Agreement (for credit internships only)
Once a student is offered a position, if s/he wishes to earn academic credit, a Work Agreement is established in consultation with the student, the supervising employer, the Career Development Office, and the Associate Dean.
  4. Evaluations (for credit internships only)
Two evaluations (one during the summer) will be mailed to the employer during the semester the student is registered.  The employer should fill out the evaluation, discuss it with the student, and return it to the Employment Coordinator by the deadline.
