Tohono O’odham Nation

Population: 10,201
Size: 4,454 sq. mi.
Median household income: $27,040

The Tohono O’Odham tribe worked for a number of years on the development of utility-scale solar projects in collaboration with electric utility Tucson Electric Power. None of the projects are moving forward at this time.

There are a handful of small solar projects that are being pursued at the Tohono O’Odham Community College and in the Pisinemo District of the reservation.

This information was gathered from conversations with tribal representatives and web searches. The census data was found online and represents 2010 figures.
