In 2012 and 2013, the Havasupai tribe partnered with EPA, BIA, and others to build a 750 kW solar PV system on Long Mesa, above the canyon where the tribal community lies. The system was built as part of a settlement enforcement action taken by U.S. EPA for violations of RCRA, CAA, AHERA, and the SDWA. There are also small solar PV systems on tribal buildings in the community, which were installed through a BIA grant prior to 2000.
This information was gathered using web searches and not from conversations with tribal representatives. The census data was found online and represents 2010 figures.
