Welcome to our inclusive community<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

At Northern Arizona University, we recognize that to be an inclusive campus, we must acknowledge the vast diversity represented at NAU, while providing opportunities to learn from each other and build on our strengths to achieve results. We live in a time when higher education is changing. The demographics of our students, faculty, and staff; the dynamic role of technology in our lives; the needs of the workforce of the future and the importance of education; and the imperative to create an inclusive community that promotes civil discourse, academic freedom, and critical inquiry, enriched by the backgrounds and lived experiences of its members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Center for Inclusive Excellence and Access provides leadership in enhancing and fostering an inclusive community where students and employees can learn and grow in an ever-changing global society. Guided by NAU’s Strategic Roadmap<\/a> and 2030 Goals,<\/a> the Center for Inclusive Excellence and Access is a resource that supports NAU\u2019s mission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Campus Inclusion Team<\/h3>\n \n
\n

The Campus Inclusion Team (CIT) serves students, faculty, staff and community members who visit our campus. The CIT assists NAU community members when the actions and words of others have led to feeling unwelcome or excluded. The CIT aims to elevate our campus culture of inclusive excellence through listening, referring to resources and providing education to foster and enhance an inclusive environment where everyone can thrive and succeed.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n \n <\/span>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n\n \n <\/a>\n \n <\/div>\n \n

SpEAK Team<\/h3>\n \n

The Speech Expression Action Knowledge (SpEAK) Team is present at free-speech events that occur on campus and responds to questions regarding the role of NAU being a marketplace of ideas. The SpEAK Team is a neutral entity that facilitates civil discourse and free expression regardless of the topics being discussed.<\/p>\n
