Diversity Strategic Plan

Thank you to everyone who spent time and effort to provide expertise and feedback over the last three years during the drafting process for the Diversity Strategic Planning (DSP). We are excited to officially roll out the Diversity Strategic Plan! We have worked closely with University Marketing to develop a branded DSP overview document that is accessible for everyone. This document provides the high level view of the priorities and objectives of the DSP as well as a set of definitions to ensure shared language and vision. Share this with your colleges, departments, units, and colleagues. Use this document to begin the conversation around diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice (DEIJ) in your program or area. Visit the full detailed DSP for specific strategies and approaches or consult with your unit’s assigned Diversity Fellow or the Diversity Commissions for guidance and support. DEIJ efforts are everyone’s responsibility and with the DSP as the foundation, units across the university will begin to transform our campus in big and small ways. Continue to visit the Center for University Access and Inclusion’s website as we work over the summer to revamp the pages and feel of the site.

The launch of the Diversity Fellows Program in the spring of 2021 provides support and expert advice and research to our DEIJ efforts as well. Eight fellows (faculty and staff) from across campus make up the inaugural class. We are excited at the possibilities and look forward to working with the campus communities to bring diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice to the forefront of all we do at NAU as a True Diversity University.
