{"id":1066,"date":"2019-08-21T12:13:44","date_gmt":"2019-08-21T19:13:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/cbi-rcn-g2p2pop\/?page_id=1066"},"modified":"2020-01-24T16:19:32","modified_gmt":"2020-01-24T23:19:32","slug":"about-the-rcn","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/cbi-rcn-g2p2pop\/about-the-rcn\/","title":{"rendered":"About the RCN"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1 style=\"text-align: left;\">Welcome to the g2p2pop Research Coordination Network<\/h1>\n<h3>The g2p2pop RCN is funded by the National Science Foundation.<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The primary aim of the Research Coordination Network (RCN) is to assemble a <strong>diverse, interdisciplinary, multi-institutional, multinational network of scientists<\/strong> to tackle the following question:<\/p>\n<h4>How will populations and species of vertebrates respond to a changing climate?<\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Because of the inherent complexities of the biological hierarchy and need for mechanism-based prediction, a central theme to this effort is <strong>developing mechanistic models to extrapolate key processes across levels of organization<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">To this end, we are establishing a <strong>new collaborative network of modelers and empirical biologists<\/strong> to address a grand challenge in biology, <strong>\u201cDeciphering the Genomes-to-Phenomes (g2p) Relationship,\u201d and extending to the population level<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Network expertise will span from genomes to populations and will include quantitative modelers at all levels of biological organization.
