NAU employs more than 3,000 on-campus student employees in hourly, part-time roles. On-campus student employees may work up to 30 hours per week when classes are in session and up to 40 hours per week during breaks (winter and spring break) or the summer session. Exceptions apply for Minors or International students based on Visa status.<\/p>\n
NOTE: Work-Study is not a requirement<\/strong>
\nMany on-campus student employment jobs list ‘Work-Study’ as a preference, but you should still apply if you aren’t Federal Work-Study Eligible. Don’t let that one little preference deter you from applying for the job; you can still apply even if you don’t meet 100% of the preferences!<\/p>\n\n\n <\/body><\/html>\n\n <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n \n

Federal Work-Study (FWS) is a need-based financial aid program. FWS employees may work on campus, or off-campus with approved agencies. To be eligible, students must apply for financial aid via the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at fafsa.gov. The Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid (OSFA) is responsible for offering and awarding FWS funds to eligible students. Don’t fret! Hiring managers often screen applicants first<\/em> for minimum qualifications and second<\/em> to identify the other qualities and skills of the qualified applicants to identify individuals that will move forward in the application process.<\/p>\n
The size of the applicant pool, as well as the skill level needed for the position, will have a large impact on the candidate pool selected to move forward with the interview process.<\/p>\n
