I tried to create an account for Handshake but it is coming up as a student account. Is there a way to delete that one and have an employee account? Accordion Closed
If you are an NAU alumnus (or are taking classes and have a student status) you may already have a Student/Alumni Account in Handshake. You can add an employer account by following these instructions.
I requested an account in Handshake, but it is still waiting for approval. Accordion Closed
When you request to connect with a company profile in Handshake (i.e. your program or department), that request is sent to the ‘Employer’ for approval, but if nobody checks those pending approvals then they sit in approval-limbo. Any staff member who already has approval with your company profile can log into Handshake, click on the company profile (left navigation, 3rd from the top, looks like a briefcase), and Edit>Staff Management and add your email/approve your request. If you do not have someone available to do this, you can contact StudentEmployment@nau.edu with your email address and company/employer/department name and request access.
How do I know which applications are Work Study eligible? Accordion Closed
The preference for work study is set when you post the job (see the on-campus job posting instructions here). If you set that preference when you posted the job, you will see applicants that match that preference by clicking “Matches all preferences” tab in your applications list, or by hovering over the “i” next to each applicant.
