Student membership options
Flagstaff Mountain Campus students gain access to the Recreation Center by paying their Health and Wellness fee. Campus Recreation also has options to accommodate CCC2NAU, online, and visiting students. Details on what is included in a student membership can be found on our Member benefits page.
Summer
Students who are not taking classes during the summer semester must purchase a membership to Campus Recreation. These memberships can be purchased via credit/debit or check. To purchase a membership, visit the front desk of the Recreation Center.
- Summer memberships can be purchased at any point throughout the summer semester.
- The summer semester is split into two halves, which can be purchased separately or in full. The first half begins the Monday after NAU commencement ceremonies, and the second half of the summer semester begins around the week of July 4.
- Memberships must be paid in full at the time of purchase by credit card or check.
Plus-one membership
All patrons with a current Campus Recreation membership have the option to sponsor a plus-one member. A plus-one member can be anyone a member chooses. Members can have one active plus-one membership at a time. Plus-one members receive the same benefits as the original member. Below are the guidelines for plus-one members:
- All sponsors must be present when signing up a plus-one member to verify the eligibility status of their membership.
- Plus-one membership pricing can be found in the tables above.
- Plus-one members must be at least 18 years old.
- Please note that all members are responsible for the actions of their plus-one.
- If the member cancels their membership, the plus-one membership will also end. Please consider this when signing up because there are no refunds or transfers of memberships.
Employee, alumni, and affiliate membership options
These membership options are available to all employees of the university (active/retired), alumni, and recognized university affiliates such as Sodexo and eFollett employees. Current full-time/benefit-eligible employees can take advantage of our payroll deduction payment option (memberships are NOT available for minors). As a benefit to our members, plus-one membership is available.

Semester memberships
- Semester memberships can be purchased at any point during the academic semester (fall, spring, and summer).
- Memberships run during the academic semester of purchase.
- Memberships must be paid in full at the time of purchase either by cash, card, or check.
- All semester memberships will be prorated to half off when the semester has entered its second half (8 weeks); there are no other prorated rates during a semester.
Annual memberships
- Memberships are available at any time of the year and are effective for one calendar year past the date of purchase.
- These memberships must be paid in full at the time of purchase either by card or check.
- Annual memberships are not eligible for a prorated rate.
Payroll deduction
All payroll deduction (PD) purchases must be completed in person.
PD is a popular option for benefit-eligible NAU faculty and staff members because it allows for membership payments to be disbursed across multiple pay periods. Memberships require an active enrollment each year (there is no auto-renewal option). To be eligible for PD, the following criteria must be met:
- Employees must be benefit-eligible before enrollment and during the entire deduction period.
- Employees must enroll in the annual program during our open enrollment period (dates TBD).
- Memberships will begin on the day of enrollment and conclude on the last day of the same month the following year.
