New Hire Information
Welcome to Campus Recreation and congratulations on being selected for employment with NAU Campus Recreation. Please read the New Hire emails you will receive from CRSAdmin@nau.com completely as your offer of employment is contingent upon immediate and successful completion of a pre-employment background check.
Once Northern Arizona University has received notification that you have cleared your pre-employment background check, you will be notified about your start date and where to report for work.
New Hire Packet Accordion Closed
If you have not worked for NAU in the past 6 months, you will need to complete your New Employee Hiring Packet in order to enroll in benefits and be paid. You will have received an email welcoming you to NAU that will include information about accessing the online hiring packet. (If you did not receive this email, please contact your department or Human Resources.)
This email will come from a NAU account email address.
You have 3 business days from receiving this email to complete your HireXpress packet.
Background checks Accordion Closed
You will be receiving an email from our background vendor, A-Check Global (acheckdirect@acheckglobal.com) if your position is deemed to be security safety sensitive, containing a link to initiate your pre-employment background investigation. Click on the link and follow the instructions to complete the online application. Once you have completed the application, the Human Resources office will be notified by A-Check Global.
You will have 3 business days from receiving this email to complete the online application
Finger Printing Accordion Closed
All security safety sensitive positions (SSS) are required be fingerprinted. Your department will ask you to schedule a fingerprint appointment with the Human Resources office if your position is deemed to be SSS. You can schedule an appointment by calling 928-523-1585. At the time of your appointment, please bring a photo ID and report to the Human Resources office five minutes before your appointment. The HR office is located at 411 S. Beaver Street in the Centennial building (91). You can reach the Human Resources office at 928-523-2223.
I-9 Verification Accordion Closed
You will need to present documentation of your eligibility to work in the USA before you are allowed to start working or training. To complete this, go to the Human Resources office 411 S. Beaver Street in the Centennial building (91) , open Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm. Just stop by and check in at the front desk. Below you will find a list of acceptable I-9 documents. Please note that we cannot accept copies, they must be original.

Acceptable I-9 Documents
Employees are required to present either one of the documents from List A or one of the following documents from List B and one of the documents from List C.
You will need to present documentation of your eligibility to work in the USA before you are allowed to start working. To complete this, come to the Campus Recreation Administration office located on the second floor of the HLC, room 2124 (next to the Cardio Theater). Our office is open Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm. Just stop by and check in at the front desk. Below you will find a list of acceptable I-9 documents. Please note that you are ineligible to work until this is completed.

List A (Documents that establish both identity and employment eligibility)
- United States Passport
- Permanent Resident Card or Alien Registration Receipt Card (I-551)
- Temporary Resident Card (I-688)
- Employment Authorization Document (I-766, I-688B, or I-688A)
- Foreign Passport with temporary I-551 stamp
- For aliens authorized to work only for a specific employer, foreign passport with Form I-94 authorizing employment with this employer

List B (Documents that establish identity only)
- Driver’s license issued by a state or outlying possession
- ID card issued by a state or outlying possession
- Native American tribal document
- Canadian driver’s license or ID card with a photograph (for Canadian aliens authorized to work only for a specific employer)
- School ID card with a photography
- Voter’s registration card
- U.S. Military card or draft record
- Military dependent’s ID Card
List C (Documents that establish employment eligibility only)
- Social Security account number card without employment restrictions
- Original or certified copy of a birth certificate with an official seal issued by a state or local government agency
- Certification of Birth Abroad
- US Citizen ID Card
- Native American tribal document
- Form I-94 authorizing employment with this employer (for aliens authorized to work only for a specific employer)
Employee Training
As a new employee, you will be required to complete the following training prior to working shifts. These websites work best in Google Chrome.
You must start your online training in the Campus Recreation Administration office on the 2nd floor of the Health & Learning Center (HLC#25).
Screenshots of your completion and/or certifications must be emailed to CRSadmin@nau.edu to be recorded.
To sign up for online training or for CPRO/First Aid and Risk Management:
CPRO/First Aid and Risk Management Accordion Closed
CPRO/First Aid and Risk Management are live training.
CPRO/First Aid certification is required every two years. Risk Management is a one-time training.
FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act) Accordion Closed
You can access your FERPA training by clicking on the following link: http://nau.edu/registrar/ferpa/
You will see the FERPA TRAINING screen and will need to click on “Select FERPA Tutorial”.
If you have already completed your tutorial and are looking for your certificate click “next” for the first 16 pages and then you will get to the page when it asks you to take the quiz.
FERPA is a one-time training.
You will need to take a screen shot of the certificate and e-mail it to CRSAdmin@nau.edu or you will need to print the confirmation and bring it to the Campus Recreation Administration Office, located on the 2nd Floor of the Campus Recreation Center.
Loss Prevention Accordion Closed
You can access the Loss Prevention Training at the following link. http://nau.edu/Research/Compliance/Environmental-Health-and-Safety/Online-Loss-Prevention-Training-Page/
Once there click on “NAU’s Online Loss Prevention Training Module”
You will have to log-in using your Louie ID (Example: abc123) and your NAU password.
You will then complete the training.
If you have already completed your training and are looking for you completion certificate, click on the following link. https://www5.nau.edu/its/mytraining/
Once there click the “MY TRANSCRIPT” on the left-hand side.
You will then be linked to your completion page with your name and date of completion.
Loss Prevention is a one-time training.
You will need to take a screen shot of the confirmation and e-mail it to CRSAdmin@nau.edu or you will need to print the confirmation and bring it to the Campus Recreation Administration Office, located on the 2nd Floor of the Campus Recreation Center.
Information Technology Essentials Accordion Closed
You can access the Information Technology Essentials training at the following link:

There are four parts to this training and you must complete all four parts in order to complete the training.
The modules are:
- What is Information Security?
- Account Security
- Device Security
- Phishing Scams
After you complete each module, you will receive an e-mail confirmation that you completed each e-mail. However, after you complete all four modules, you will need to go the following website:

Once there click the “MY TRANSCRIPT” on the left-hand side.
You will then be linked to your completion page with your name and date of completion that looks like the one below. The screen actually has the confirmation for both your Loss Prevention and Information Security Essentials training.
Information Technology Essentials is a one-time training.
You will need to take a screen shot of the confirmation and e-mail it to CRSAdmin@nau.edu or you will need to print the confirmation and bring it to the Campus Recreation Administration Office, located on the 2nd Floor of the Campus Recreation Center.
New Employee Orientation Accordion Closed
You can access the New Employee Orientation at http://nau.edu/its/learn/newemployee/
Complete each of the following modules. After you complete all three modules you will see a screen that says “Tutorial Complete”.
New Employee Orientation is a one-time training.
Click My Transcript at the very bottom and you will see the following screen. This screen is the one you screenshot and send to CRSAdmin@nau.edu.
Accommodating Disabilities Accordion Closed
You can access the Accommodating Disabilities Training at https://nau.edu/campus-health-services/mental-health-programs/
You need to click on the “Accommodating Disabilities” course
Please complete all as aspects of this trainings.
When finished click “PRINT CERTIFICATE”
Please download or take a screenshot of this certificate and send to CRSAdmin@nau.edu.
Kognito Training Course Accordion Closed
You can access the Kognito Training at https://nau.edu/campus-health-services/mental-health-programs/
You will choose the STUDENT option and use the passkey nau82.
Once the training has been completed, you will see a page where it should say, “completed” with the date.
** You can send the screenshot above which will contain the completed transcript of your Loss Prevention, Information Security Essentials, and New Employee Orientation rather than sending three separate screenshots.**
E-CERT – Conduct, Ethics, Reporting and Transparency Accordion Closed
(You might have to wait a couple more days to take the E-Certification training if you have been recently hired).
You can access your E-CERT training by clicking on the following link:

You will then click on the “NAU CERT course”.
You must complete all sections of the training. Step 2: E-CERT will take you to another webpage where you will log in and complete a survey. Upon completion of the survey, you will receive an email containing your responses. After approximately one week, you will receive a certificate.
The E-CERT certification is a once a year annual requirement.
You will need to take a screen shot of the certificate and e-mail it to CRSAdmin@nau.edu or you will need to print the confirmation and bring it to the Campus Recreation Administration Office, located on the 2nd Floor of the Campus Recreation Center.
Harassment and Discrimination Prevention Accordion Closed
(You might have to wait a couple more days to take this training if you have been recently hired).
In order to complete your Preventing Harassment & Sexual Violence Training please follow this link: http://el.lawroom.com/shib/northernarizona/
You need to click on the “Harassment & Discrimination Prevention” course
Please complete all as aspects of this training.
Follow the directions.
